Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria of Modena

The Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria of Modena (AOU) carries out its care and research functions in integration with UNIMORE. Important elements of its mission:

  • achieve the highest level of response to health demands,
  • promote the quality of the clinical-care offer,
  • support research and innovation,
  • ensure continuity of care.

The AOU contributes to the training of doctors of the future and to biomedical and health research which must have concrete implications on the progress of diagnosis and treatment.1089 are the clinical trials (interventional and non-interventional) ongoing in the AOU that involve all pathologies (oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, clinical toxicology …)

The Headache and Drug Abuse Research Centre of Modena is involved in clinical research dealing with OnabotulinumtoxinA and anti-CGRP monoclonal antibodies in migraine. Moreover, it is involved in preclinical studies dealing with postural alteration associated with migraine and serum biomarkers of pain in headache.

Role in the Facilitate Project

AOU participates to WP2 (Legal and Data Privacy framework), T2.2 Develop legal texts and T2.3 Develop standards for the development of a study participants portal for managing Future Research with their data and exercise their rights and to WP3 (Ethics, standardization and regulatory framework), T3.2 Co-creation process and stakeholders’ interests and T3.3 Clinical trials data use case specification and stakeholders’ requirements.

Furthermore, they will be involved in WP5 (Technology framework and interoperability solutions), T5.5: Deployment of the PoC solutions and validation of the prototype process and WP6 (Communication and dissemination), T6.2 Stakeholder involvement.
