Expert patients meet FACILITATE
On 15 October 2023, the Accademia del Paziente Esperto EUPATI (AdPEE) held an information event dedicated to the European FACILITATE project at the Rome Scout Center in Rome.
Sabrina Grigolo, member of the board of AdPEE, together with some EUPATI Patient Experts – Angela Azzarello, Ursula Bonetti and Stefania Piras – presented the FACILITATE project, which is coordinated by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE).
The dissemination event took place as part of the EUPATI training course, which has been organized in Italy since 2014 and has so far certified 140 patients experts in Research and Development of innovative therapies.
In the morning, the 40 participants of this edition attended the presentation introduced by Paola Kruger, Scientific Director of the EUPATI Course. The speeches of the panellists focused on the description of the project: the origins of the consortium, the partnerships, the objectives in ethical, legal, regulatory, and procedural terms and, above all, in terms of full respect for patients’ rights. The project aroused great interest among the learners, so much so that four of them expressed interest in actively participating.
Based on this interest, an internal interview will be held with each of them to determine a possibility of active participation within the project.
The event was recorded and can be viewed at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJlmxIgA-H8 (in Italian).
