The MRCT Center is an independent research and policy center associated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard University. MRCT efforts have resulted in the implementation of improved clinical research practices, greater transparency, clearer communication, increased diversity and inclusion, and improved safety for research participants.
MRCT has explored the theme of returning summary results in comprehensive and integrative medicine, as well as launched separate projects delving deeper into the return of individual data to participants (RoIDP) and addressing health literacy principles in clinical research that extend to the sharing of Plain Language Summaries. MRCT Center resources include case studies, framework and guidance documents, meeting summaries and webinar recordings, presentations, publications, and more. The MRCT Center has developed toolkits with, and for, patients and participants, including the Clinical Research Glossary to explain clinical research definitions and concepts in plain language.
