A participant is an individual who voluntarily engages in a clinical study or research project. Participants may be healthy volunteers or patients diagnosed with a particular condition and provide informed consent to contribute data, undergo interventions, or be subjected to assessments for the purpose of advancing scientific knowledge. Their involvement is essential for evaluating the safety, efficacy, and outcomes of medical treatments or interventions.
- Healthy Volunteers: Individuals clinically healthy (without any health conditions including the condition being studied) who participate to help establish baseline data or evaluate safety.
- Patients: Individuals diagnosed with a condition who participate to receive potential benefits from an experimental treatment or intervention.
